Sam Wilkinson

Head of Digital

I’m a leading specialist in reputation management, and the best point of contact at Wilkinson Butler for those seeking to ‘move the needle’ digitally: whether that be helping individuals or brands improve how they appear online, campaigning and advocacy, corporate governance, social responsibility and creating shared value, thought-leadership initiatives, launching class actions, running lead gen or awareness campaigns, or developing social license around key issues, many politically sensitive.

I have extensive experience developing communication and reputation strategies and running campaigns for clients of all sizes and industries, including global FMCGs, listed companies, law firms, leading medical professionals, venture capital firms and startups.

I’m an expert across key digital pillars: I build websites and deeply understand search engine optimisation (SEO), digital marketing, advertising and social media. Combined with my experience in managing crises and complex issues, and a learned awareness of how stakeholders and other factors are likely to play into the equation, I’m able to quickly build comprehensive strategies leveraging both digital and traditional media to influence reputational change.

I work pro-bono for the Alliance for Journalists’ Freedom, which advocates for media freedom and the safety of journalists, something I am extremely passionate about.

Prior to working in corporate affairs and issues management, I worked in the advertising industry for 8 years, employed by major multinationals Viacom and Disney to work on world-class brands such as MTV, Nat Geo, Nickelodeon and ESPN. Through this time, I serviced almost all major Australian media agencies.
